Welcome!

First of all let me say it’s great to have you onboard, and congratulations on deciding to take your health and fitness into your own hands!

I genuinely appreciate you entrusting this part of your life to me, and you have my word that I will work with you to the best of my ability to get you to where you want to be.

From now on, we are a team!

And although you will be the one implementing the steps necessary to change your life, I will be there in your corner cheering you on and helping out when I can.

In this document you will find a brief introduction to how this online training thing works, as well as a few key principles .

I’m really excited to get going and to see what we can both achieve together!

Much love,

Rob

So how does this online training thing work?

I’m so glad you asked!

Quite simply, the thing that really makes online training work is honest communication.

My goal as a coach is to get you where you want to be, in a way that fits into your life, and in order to do that communication is essential.

This is because, unlike some people would lead you to believe, there are many ways to achieve a goal, and online training is all about finding YOUR way.

And the main thing that helps us find your way are the check ins.

Every two weeks I will send you a check in form, and then at the end of every month we jump on a video call and we will find out how you’re getting on. If any adjustments need to be made then we can make them.

If anything isn’t working, then we can always change our approach.

Remember…

There are no “rights and wrongs”, just different paths to get you to your goal.

Specifics like your workouts and nutrition plan will be sent to you either via the app or via Google Sheets depending on what was agreed in our initial consultation.

Lastly, this membership section will house all of the learning materials you will need to understand the “whys” of what we do. Executing the plan I give you is one thing, but understanding why we do what we do, as well as what works and what doesn’t will let you keep your results for the long term.

The information is in small, easy to digest chunks so it won’t take up too much of your time, so I would recommend reading through it every now and then, but feel free to do this at your own pace!

Check-ins

Check ins will be every two weeks via the check in form, and then a video check in at the end of the month (or 4 weeks). We will arrange a time that works for you so that we can have a proper chat to find out how you’re doing, measure progress and make any adjustments necessary.

Ideally you will also take progress photos around this time too, from the front, back and side. This is because if body recomposition in any form is your goal, this is the best way of of gauging visual progress.

A note on “Imperfect action”

This is quite possibly the most important part of how we approach this journey together.

It’s the idea that you don’t need to be perfect to make progress.

Where most people go wrong with their health and fitness goals is thinking that it is an all or nothing situation.

They put so much pressure on themselves to execute everything 100% correctly, and when they don’t (because y’know, they’re human and life happens) then they berate themselves thinking that they’ve messed up their progress.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

Success is the result of executing small things imperfectly over a period of time.

Read that sentence again. And then re-read it. Let it really sink in.

Doing something and only achieving it to 50% is still better than not doing it at all.

So don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it all perfect right away. As long as you are continually implementing the things that will take you toward your goal, you will progress.

Plus, a large part of this process is learning what does and does not work for you, and in order to learn, you have to make “mistakes”. So even if you make a “mistake”, you’re progressing!
